Need Home Or Auto Insurance?

Here’s How To Help Us Help You!

As your independent insurance agent, we always want to save you money!

Let us help you with the right approach to first quote and then purchase auto and home or renter’s insurance.

What do we mean? The more information we know about you, the better the rates can be. Be prepared for us to ask personal questions – they are for your benefit!

What kind of information do we need? For your auto and home, we need your driver’s license information, including your date of birth and approximate date that you first earned your license. With your home or rental insurance, we need your social security number. We know many people are reluctant to provide this – and you should always be cautious in giving it out – but every insurance company requires it and we keep your information secure.

We need specific information about the cars you own: the year, make, and model, along with the vehicle identification number (VIN). The insurance company wants to know about the exact car you are driving in order to insure it. The odometer reading helps with refining the quote. So does the name of the lender you may have taken the loan from.

If you already have policies, be prepared to provide this information including a copy of the actual policy. The more we know about your status and how you have been insured, the better it is for you.

With your home, condo, or apartment, please tell us about any security systems in place. Also any particular jewelry, art, and other valuables you may want to itemize, listing them in the policy so that you have that specific coverage. Let us know if you have made improvements, such as upgrading your bathrooms and/or kitchen or finished off your basement or attic spaces. We want to make sure your policy has the coverage you need now. Tell us about the granite countertops, jacuzzi or hot tub, skylights, or any commercial grade appliances. This all helps you, particularly if you ever need to make a claim. Without this information at the time of the policy, or when something changes, your improvements may not be covered in full!

Do you have a mortgage? Most people do. We will work closely with your lender to make sure that everything about your home is properly covered to their satisfaction as well as yours.

For condo owners, we will also coordinate with the condo association’s master policy. Many people do not understand or know what insurance coverage the condo association has, and how it affects them. We do – just ask us and we will make sure you do too!

Have you had any claims in the past six years? We need to know – this information is crucial. Sharing it with us upfront will save us time so that we can focus on the best options available to you. Even if we can’t help you.

As an independent insurance agency, we represent multiple insurers. We will always try to combine your auto, home, and even umbrella coverage together – the umbrella liability coverage links your home and auto together for great protection! And it will afford you with better rates!

One more thing – if you let us know far in advance before your current policy renews, this also helps us to help you, giving us time to explore your best options.
