2026 Auto Liability Insurance

With Presidents Day in February, a traditional time for auto sales, many people buy or lease cars around this time of year– late winter to early spring. Even if you aren't purchasing a new or new-to-you vehicle, this is a good time to make sure your auto coverage is up to date.

In Massachusetts and other states, the mandatory minimum liability insurance requirements have been increased to account for the increase in claims being filed and paid. This mandatory coverage is to protect you and your passengers for medical expenses and lost wages in the event of an accident.

In addition to the mandatory amounts, it’s important to make sure your liability coverage is increased to the maximum affordable and available with optional liability coverage. Liability insurance protects you whether you own a home, or a business, or you simply rent. If someone files a claim against you after an accident, your policy will cover legal defense costs in addition to the potential judgment resulting from the claim. Having this additional coverage helps protect your savings, assets, and your income.

Remember, too, that vehicle costs have increased dramatically lately, and not just the purchase price of a car. Accident repair costs include both labor and material, accounting for much of a claim, and the insurance companies must have the ability to cover these costs through their premiums.

As an independent insurance agency working with multiple insurance companies, we always try to save our clients money with any available discounts and credits for which you are eligible. We don’t lock you into one insurance company.

We strive to provide you with our personal service, and not only when you purchase your insurance plan. We want to make the process as easy as possible for you if and when you need to make a claim. Our goal is to keep you with continuous coverage at a price you can afford, avoiding costly cancellations.

Whether you are looking into buying a car this month or maybe sometime later this year, give us a call or send an email so we can review your current plan and help you get the coverage that works for you. We are here for you when you need us!

Thank you!
