Here are some key tips to make your summer healthy, safe, and enjoyable: Even though summer seems to fly by, we need to apply basic safety for our outdoor enjoyment and indoor activities.

Sun Protection

Protecting your skin from the sun's harmful UV rays is crucial.

  • Use a high SPF sunscreen and apply it to any skin that will be exposed. Coverage works best if you apply it before you go outside.

 Wear protective clothing and accessories

  • Wide-brimmed hats  protect your face, ears, and neck. Sunburn on your scalp can be quite painful!

  • Opt for sunglasses that block 99-100% of UVA and UVB rays.

  • Consider wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants made from lightweight, breathable fabric for extended outdoor activities. There are even fabrics that offer specific SPF protection.

Hydration

Staying hydrated is essential, especially during hot summer days.

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

  • Avoid excessive consumption of sugary drinks, caffeine, and alcohol, as they can lead to dehydration.

  • Carry a reusable water bottle with you and refill it regularly.

Water Safety
